Unity Programmer (Full-Time, On-Site in Antwerp, Belgium)

Do you love coding, horror games, and the thrill of seeing your work come to life (hopefully without summoning any cursed entities)? Are you the kind of developer who enjoys crafting terrifying experiences while keeping your C# code cleaner than a freshly summoned ghost? Then we want YOU to join Cybernetic Walrus!

We’re looking for a talented Unity Programmer to bring their expertise and creativity to our team. If you have a strong technical background, a knack for problem-solving, and a passion for horror games, don’t be shy—send us your application (no need for a blood pact, an email will do)!

Position Details:

  • Location: Antwerp, Belgium (On-site required, 3 days per week)
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in Unity development

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize gameplay systems using Unity and C#.
  • Implement and refine game mechanics, AI behavior, and interactive elements.
  • Work closely with designers and artists to ensure a seamless player experience.
  • Maintain code quality, organization, and performance optimization.
  • Debug and troubleshoot technical issues in the game.
  • Collaborate with the team to bring innovative game ideas to life.

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of C# and Unity.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Unity game development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for game development.
  • Ability to work at our Antwerp office three days per week.
  • Good communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus but not required).

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with C++ (not required but a plus).
  • Multiplayer programming experience (using Photon, Mirror, or other networking solutions).
  • Shipped a horror game or worked on one professionally.
  • Experience with AI programming and procedural content generation.
  • Knowledge of game optimization techniques and memory management.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • You are currently following an education that prepares you to work in the games industry, a good example is the course Digital Arts and Entertainment provided by Howest in Kortrijk.
  • In general this means you know a bit more then the basics of Unity and/or Unreal engine.
  • For programmers it means you know C# and/or C++.
  • 3D artists should have a good knowledge of a 3D modeling software like Maya or Blender and have some skill with Photoshop and/or substance for texturing and materials.
  • You must be enthusiastic and have a passion for game and XR development.
